Got into Was (Not Was) a few months ago without any context and was wondering where that strange band came from and where it went. Searched for any podcast and found a *six* hour interview that explained everything.
3-part interview with David Weiss aka half of Was (not Was) out now on @80sography.bsky.social podcast.

Boom, boom, ackalacka...you get the picture...

Just finished this. Absolutely revelatory interview with someone who was a name on my beloved PSB records. Who knew his history with Frankie, Fuzzbox and (!) Chris de Burgh!?

As a teen in the 80s, I was aware of "Walk the Dinosaur" by Was (Not Was) but didn't seek out the rest of their music. But something made me pick up "Are You Okay?" when it came out, and it became one of my faves because it was so...weird. Thank you @80sography.bsky.social for this amazing series!!

There's a *lot* to love about this Andy Richards interview from @80sography.bsky.social, but the best is that - after many hours of Andy being *incredibly nice* about absolutely everybody he's ever worked with - he gets to Chris de Burgh and doesn't hold back.

I've got 3 from @80sography.bsky.social to catch up on. Am saving the previous two until February, but, despite not knowing this album or liking Paul Simon's music much, I enjoyed this episode. I'm guessing that Russ Titelman wasn't a fan of Roland Barthes 😉😂 Glad the disagreement wasn't edited out.

Although I don't love the whole album as much 80sography, but this is a fascinating album and great interview.

The album does contain one of Simon's most underrated and best songs, "Rene and Georgette Magritte with their Dog After the War."
