I get excited every time a company launches a new VR headset that specifically plays games. Not because I want to buy another one, it just keeps the genre alive longer.

Language pet peeve that will not go away: game reviewers referring to bug fixes and testing as "Q & A." It's
"quality assurance!" Not "question and answer," and not "quality and assurance." It's QA. No "and."

Not too concerned about Metroid Prime 4, considering I have liked all the bad ones, probably as much as the good ones. The only Metroids I've played where I was like "nah" were 1 and 2.

Due to new moderation rules "woke" will now be replaced by "un-sleep." (Wife and I are playing Smurfs: Dreams)

All this Epstein stuff just reminds me that on most days of the week, mainstream media doesn't give a shit that Trump's a pedophile.

Started Kona II: Brume. I like it! Was waiting on a PSVR 2 version, but doubt it's ever going to happen. Not sure who the market for these games is besides me. French Canadian detective walking sim with some horror and the faintest of survival elements. I enjoy some quality snoopin'.

Played the first two levels of Quake 2. I'm good. Goldeneye remains the dividing line - environments that are fun levels which feel like real, liveable spaces. Brown mazes, even with the compass, do not spark joy.

Very specific Bake Off nitpick: every season they use a sound effect for the crowd cheering during the final - multiple times per episode.

Remembering the last Chicago mayorial election on twitter, when idiots were celebrating "the democrat lost," not realizing that the race was between 3 other democrats.

The Variety stories about David Ellison's seeming movie/TV plans at Paramount being "MAGA-coded" are understandable from a get-the-headline perspective; but when you drill down what's more apparent IMO is *another* data'bro who thinks "get audiences back" = "listen to Twitter" and LOL nope 🤦‍♂️

As a VR fan, I have been watching Apple Vision Pro videos for a while to try and find some interesting use case for such an expensive (and honestly miraculous) technology. The one market I hadn’t seen mentioned: perverts.

Started the recent umpteenth reboot of Alone in the Dark. Ended up choosing the David Harbour character because Jodie Comer wasn't doing her English or adorable Bikeriders accent. Combat is meh, but puzzles are nice and tricky.

Part of my elementary school education was being taught “power writing" to crank out written essays according to a repetitious template. It made everything formulaic and bland, and within a year or two, we were told to never write like that again. This is exactly how AI articles come across now.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere Review - decent movie, but I thought it was a bad idea to have footage from Badlands and Night of the Hunter fill the entire screen multiple times. Yeah Bruce is depressed, did you notice these clips from two of the greatest movies ever made?
