Wes Streeting branded the doctors BMA a cartel, while getting a lot richer via real cartels ...

"A quick but helpful chart breaking down who owns Wes Streeting. Unsurprisingly a large amount appears to be owned by private health companies."

The main cause of absence in schools: illness

Flu is dangerous to children and adults - especially if unvaccinated

Children and school staff can pass-on their illness to friends and family

100% Attendance Rewards used to be a thing; but they have no place during a big flu wave

English councils plan to sell off social clubs and sports centres to balance books.

Social spaces lost forever. Libraries, community centres, school playgrounds, parks closed/sold as council funding cut in real terms to appease the rich.

Social vandalism.

Now is the worst of the pandemic because we are doing none of those things and just allowing reinfection after reinfection.
Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

Someone said it’s unethical to restrict the movements of elderly people when there is a covid outbreak in a nursing home.

Doesn’t feel too ethical to me to have low vaccination rates, no air quality improvement, and just spread diseases either though.

Seems kinda evil.

Race to the bottom.

UK banks push for easing of capital adequacy rules. They want deregulation and lower capital requirements to compete with shadow banks which are unregulated.

This will end in tears. Public purse will bear the cost. All avoidable. Will any govt resist the City?

Welcome. Would lift 350,000 children out of poverty.

Why did Starmer/Reeves follow the Tory policy? Why did 7 MPs have their whip withdrawn for voting against the policy?

What was the point of making children suffer?
