So gas and electricity prices are set to rise again - because we have to pay for substantial infrastructure upgrades.

I wonder how much infrastructure could have been upgraded if private companies hadn’t spent over 30 years stealing our money for a few shareholders?

I didn’t stop drinking Punk IPA because I didn’t like the taste. I stopped drinking it because Brewdog launched vexatious lawsuits at small businesses.
I like hoppy beer but I REALLY hate bullies.
Nothing they do will get me to drink their beer again.

MAGNA CARTA

Fun fact: it was originally written in Latin and translated into Norman French. Because they were the two dominant languages of the Church and State for well over 300 years after 1066.

While it’s great Labour has finally taken its head out of the sand over Brexit, the fact they are now publicly talking about the damage leaving the EU has done while still doing little to fix our relationship is annoying to say the least.

The budget didn't bother the powerful.

No windfall tax on banks. Govt subsidy of £23bn+ continues.

No windfall tax on energy companies, £125bn profit since 2020.

Corporate profiteering and subsidies continue. No curbs on corporate welfare.

85,500 have wealth of £2.8 trillion, hardly touched.
The government’s budget is simply managing decline

Labour’s economic plan will take years to deliver, Starmer says.

Made difficult by poor policies.

Could have
Aligned taxation of dividends and capital gains with wages, lift personal allowance.

Nationalised energy/water, end profiteering, cut inflation, reduce business and household costs.

Oh dear. Open goal missed.

It's not "the Brexit deal" that's the problem. That's the Labour line. That framing leaves the door open to the notion that a different Brexit deal might have worked.

No. Brexit itself is the problem. Inherently unworkable.

Depressing that you can't tell the difference.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

Why no 'pragmatic' U-turn' on nationalising water, energy, rail rolling stock companies and freight; ending privatisation of the NHS and social care; taxing the super rich?

The reason the top 10% of income earners pay more than half of all tax revenue is NOT because they are taxed more than ever.

Their tax rate has been cut FIVE times in the last 25 years.

They are paying more because their INCOME has increased astronomically, where the income of the bottom half has
