At some point the media’s view of their jobs changed from holding politicians accountable to active scalp hunting over relatively nothing. They’re trying to use a relentless drum-beat of less than honest narrative creation to try and force resignations in a way they never did before.

"A great British institution is under attack from a foreign government. President Trump is trying to destroy our BBC... Trump has undermined press freedom in America. Now he's trying to do the same here, disgracefully egged on by the leader of Reform."

Many years ago I did a cultural awareness course and rule one was this: You can criticise your own country and you can do it as much as you like. But when someone else does it, you remember all the things you actually love about it and - it's enraging.

Considering the BBC is, contrary to all the noise, pretty much the most trusted media source in the country and Trump is ridiculously unpopular over here what constituency of people is this aimed at?

Zing. God knows if this will work. But it's the right mindset.

PM also says he does not believe Nigel Farage or Reform voters are racist In a response to Keir Starmer’s conference speech, Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, claimed yesterday afternoon that the PM’s comments about his party would put his activists at risk of attack from the “radical left”. In his interviews, Starmer rejected that claim. No, not at all. There is a political fight that has to be had, and it’s about the future of our country. This is a different fight to the traditional Labour/Conservative fight. You can see versions of this going on in many other countries across Europe. I think that if Reform were to gain power, they would tear our country apart and fundamentally change us as a country. We have seen the most extraordinary 48 hours of demonisation, and I’m going to say it again, incitement to violence against the man who is the bookmakers’ favourite to be the next prime minister. I am about to announce something you have been calling for and campaigning on, which is to ban fracking for good. You called for it, I’m going to do it, thank you for your campaigning. What an amazing result for our environment, our local communities, and the thousands of committed people and groups right across the country who’ve spent years fighting for fracking to be banned for good – including the many who signed 38 Degrees supporter Geoff’s recent petition. Not long ago, it felt like fracking might make a comeback, with Reform UK pushing to put it back on the agenda. But thousands of us stood up, demanded a permanent ban, and made our voices impossible to ignore. Continue reading...

Our politics and media have become viciously obsessed with immigration. Farage has made sure of it. And in that obsession, they’ve all lost sight of the people they target. Fellow human beings trying to live and belong somewhere.
Shame on everyone responsible for this daily inhumanity

Pregnant women, famously unconcerned about their and their child's health and particularly welcoming of advice from non-experts and *particularly* non-expert men about what to do.
Again, the *obvious* weakness Reform has is combining its first ~10%, who are much more conspiracy adjacent, with wider mainstream appeal. This is a wedge both Labour and Tories should be kicking.

Remember how much Ref. floundered under Tice when they became the party of Covid-skepticism?

This is wicked, @lbc.co.uk

You cannot allow this fraud to peddle lies.

Doctors are extremely cautious about recommending medications during pregnancy and very much err on the side of caution, even when discussing doses of paracetamol.

Do not allow this awful liar a platform.

Trump is now whining to the UN about the UN working with another developer and not him on their building

Nigel Farage failed to represent his constituents in parliament today, instead he flew to the US to slag off the UK and beg Trump for sanctions against us, which would do great harm to his constituents.
Thankfully, @raskin.house.gov was having none of it and he tore Farage a new one.
More please 👏

Still on the EHCR are we?

British politics is stuck in a post-Brexit doom loop, addicted to spectacle politics and unable to engage with its actual problems: the sclerotic post-GFC economy that has seen real wages stagnate and increasing inability of government to invest in public services.
