Up to 2 years in prison for saying “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” - that’s the legislation currently before Queensland Parliament under the Crisafulli government. They’re going to have to build more prisons before we choose to be silent about genocide.

And an extra special thank you to my dearest, @scidocmartin.bsky.social. You're an amazing science communicator, and you work so hard to help others and their science stories shine.

The LNP gave Adani Australia's coal for free.

What is reasonable? It's a question being asked by some after footage of clashes in Sydney's CBD, during a rally against Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit.

I lived next to the mighty Martuwarra Fitzroy River, swam in its waters every day, and heard the stories of the people and country it has nurtured for millenia.
Fracking in the Kimberley would be an act of cultural and ecological vandalism on an enormous scale. This must not happen.

"Stories carried through generations emphasise a deep moral responsibility to protect and manage the river and its groundwater."

If fracking begins in the Kimberley, it could damage a sacred river
Fracking exploration wells are likely to proceed in the Kimberley. Given how much more we know about the risks of fracking, this seems dangerous.

They've brought ICE to Australia. It's alarming and outrageous.

A big hug for you and Dog, it's so sad, and so terribly unfair.

A big hug for you, mate. We lost a bloody good one, that's for sure.

A national embarrassment.

I’d like to see a judge decide this was ok in a court of law. Human rights law, anyone?

We need to keep pressure up by as many mechanisms as possible. Social media very effectively spreads the information and awareness required to build pressure, including by other means. So it's not about one method being better than another.

Yes, if police are not accountable for what would be considered heinous crimes by ordinary citizens, then we are hurtling towards a very, very dangerous situation.

The PM has staffers.

ALL must be accountable to the law, @albomp.bsky.social, or you risk fostering a very dangerous society.

Honestly, any civilian doing this is almost certainly going to jail, it's abhorrent.

Because many are equally as underwhelming as Barnaby and can’t focus on what’s actually important as opposed to cheap concocted conflict.
