A note on JD Vance's repulsive response to the deportation of a Salvadoran in "error": The whole point of his stunt is to show that Trump feels free to remove people even when the law *doesn't* justify it.

I spoke to the man's lawyer. Absolutely hair raising stuff:

The Lawlessness Is the Point
The Trump administration just admitted that a Salvadoran man was deported in error. Shockingly, Trump and JD Vance don't seem to want to fix their mistake—and the implications of that are dark.

The DOGE firings have nothing to do with “efficiency” or “cutting waste.” They’re a direct push to weaken federal agencies perceived as liberal. This was evident from the start, and now the data confirms it: targeted agencies overwhelmingly those seen as more left-leaning. 🧵⬇️

DHS has terminated the memberships of everyone on its advisory committees.

This includes several cyber committees, like CISA's advisory panel and the Cyber Safety Review Board, which was investigating Salt Typhoon.

That review is "dead," person familiar says.

A reminder, for no particular reason, that the Supreme Court sat on Trump’s immunity case for *months* before issuing a ruling.
#BREAKING: Supreme Court agrees to resolve TikTok case; will hold (very) expedited argument on January 10.

The Court did *not* grant emergency relief, but deferred the requests for an injunction pending oral argument. So as of now, the law will still start producing effects on January 19:
