Vaccines are the one medical topic that I don't think anyone gets to have autonomy. If you're a parent, you have to vaccinate your kids. If you're an adult, I think there are certain vaccines you should be getting too. It's not about you, it's about everyone else. Also they should be 100% free.

I read the manga “Smell” by Nagabe. I had seen someone describe it as the author being “freaky” but honestly, I think it beautifully captures that feeling of powering through the barriers of societally-enforced shame to be vulnerable and animalistic with another person. I love it. Wonderful read

Not only is "system doesn't matter" literally an absolute statement, like just in how it's written it's not presenting any ambiguity or leeway, but I'm gonna be honest that I think a lot of the stupidest elfgame "discourse" is people throwing absolutist statements out there as ragebait on purpose
This kind of sucks, because if we could treat "system doesn't matter" like a normal sentence, then we would understand that it's not an absolute statement, but an assertion that the amount system matters is lower than some critical threshold.

The term that I've heard for this, idk if it's formal or a thing someone just made up, is the "zone of proximal development," which is to say that there's a certain boundary of skill level that someone can learn meaningful lessons by being pitted against, and beyond that you don't learn anything
This is one of the most fundamental underlying problems of perspective with many, if not most people who play fighting games. “People just want to be good at something automatically” is not correct. It’s factually inaccurate. People don’t expect to be “good.” They just don’t like being vaporized.
