My experience also was that the Boomer generation was no help to me - my mother had issues breastfeeding and my MIL didn't have the same crazy ass spray the baby in the face while they wail in horror let down so I basically had to figure it out on my own (latch baby, let down commences, unattach
Breastfeeding is hard! I had two different experiences with two kids. *Never* really got it sorted with my first, had to wear a shield for the months we were trying. I used to cry in pain. Absolutely troublefree experience with my second. But also, return to work marked the end both times.
