Finally, I know of at least one case where the letter writer, deep into an episode of AI-induced psychosis, asked the LLM why scientists were not responding. The machine suggested that perhaps the scientists were trying to steal his discovery.

This will get someone killed sooner or later.

NEW: Amid the pop and wail of fireworks, the family of Jamar Clark unveiled a marble stone bench at the place he took his last breath. The bench unveiling came after an event commemorating ten years to the day that the 24-year-old was fatally shot by Minneapolis Police on Nov. 15, 2015.

"AI" = English
"IA" = Romance languages (French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese)
"KI" = German
All mean "artificial intelligence" — just different word order.

It's believed we've lost the true name for bear in Germanic languages - "bear" roughly means "brown one," a euphemism used instead of the true name because it was believed that saying their true name would summon the bear.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Please do this! Libraries and librarians really really need your support. Because the dismantling of the Department of Education will impact us ALL
Libraries do so much for our communities and families and we'd like to give back!

Please take time this coming week to send an email or postcard of appreciation for your library to your superintendent, school board/city council, county commissioners court- or to librarians themselves!

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Since last year, November 20 is a national holiday all over Brazil. For years, it had been just in some cities of the country. The date marks Black Consciousness Day, and we told a bit about the meaning behind it at @globalvoices.org
