@sciencevs.bsky.social have enjoyed the show over the years, but I have to be honest to say I was pretty disappointed at the lack of methodological critiques of fluoride cohort studies. Even a cursory reading identify clear, significant limitations.

This publication in Nature was fascinating: Cancer cells swap mutated mitochondria with tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TILs). Metabolism is the keystone of cancer immunotherapy, yet often overlooked. Could this mechanism provide clues to increasing patient response? www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Immune evasion through mitochondrial transfer in the tumour microenvironment - Nature
Mitochondria with mutations in their DNA from cancer cells can be transferred to T cells in the tumour microenvironment, which leads to T cell dysfunction and impaired antitumour immunity.

I'm proud to share ProPublica's 2024 annual report. Being transparent about our work and its impact in the world is one of the things I like most about working here. Hope you'll give this a look:

A transformative platform will be delayed by what? A decade? 2 decades? All because of political valence. Tragic.

@profgalloway.com I’m not sure equating Steve Bannon to AOC is the equivalency you want to posit to make your “crossing enemy lines” point.

Honestly this is unserious on many levels.

1. DOGE has essentially been repackaged at the successor to the Obama admin’s digital asset platform.

2. This reflects such an unmitigated lack of familiarity with the NIH grant workflow that it’s clear he’s talked to no one about it.

I could go on…
Trump is doing what you do after you acquire a company. Crazy I know. But reality. The Dir of NIH should reach out to DOGE and offer to bring them in to remove inefficiencies.

There are always some and the Director know what they are.

DOGE gets a win. NIH gets back to work.
Hi Mark, how do you feel about cancer research being canceled.

One of the more absurd things that gets said in the ER a lot is that a chief complaint probably isn’t serious or real when it’s an unhoused patient.

Gonna blow some minds and point out that *people sleeping outdoors with no money are actually going to get sick more often*.

@dkthomp.bsky.social you had a guest today (great episode btw) state that the amyloid hypothesis was false.

This is not an accurate encapsulation whatsoever, even in the face of the fraud cases.
