You can easily do 80-90% of contemporary gamedev on Linux. It's not perfect, but that 10x less time having to deal with Windows.
Living with Windows has always been a calculus of how useful it is professionally vs. the amount of unbearable shit you gotta disable with a script and I think we reached a tipping point where it’s majority unbearable shit.

Here is a small terrain generator/renderer in few lines of #gdscript and #glsl in #godot.
The generation part is the most basic one. The vertex shader is just a bit more complex, but not that heavy. If needed, I can provide some explanation in a more in depth post. thegodotbarn.com/contribution...
