Globe and Mail's Mike Hager asked new VPD Chief Steve Rai if he would commit to releasing FOI emails my colleagues at CTV requested in 2023. Rai said it was the first he was hearing about it. "We have an excellent, robust FOI team," he said. Original story here:

In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam.
It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.

Interesting story that gets to the heart of why many Christians feel persecuted in the U.S.: The secular elite find many of their views abhorrent and uncouth

No sports properly more valuable than NFL games. Nothing close. And here was ESPN: talking concussions, partner abuse, racism, Kaepernick. I know Goodell was pissed. I know there were “conversations.” These are the fruits of those conversations. No critical discourse beyond, “Is this a good parlay?”

To put a finer point on it, the Trump administration is mass firing federal employees and telling them if they dispute their termination that they can take it up with a board that will (I just learned) lack a quorum to function as of March 1 when another of the current board member’s term expires.
It can’t be a coincidence that the CFPB email firing probationary employees included the language below.

As I reported earlier, 1 of 3 members of this board was fired last night. If they fire one more, they lack a quorum to actually hear any cases.

This should have no legal impact on the NCAA, which is not part of the executive branch of the federal government, and they will be absolute cowards if they change their policies because of it

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

Amy Coney Barrett suggests that the health care ban might not be sex discrimination under the 14th Amendment because its "burdens of the law fall equally on boys and girls because neither can transition." She asks if it should be seen more as targeted discrimination against transgender people.

How many years of full camp boxing training would you, personally, need to beat Mike Tyson in a boxing fight?

Factoring in that he continues aging while you train, I say 5 years.
