I must not fedpost. Fedposting is the mind-killer. Fedposting is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."
Oh wow @reuters.com got the photo here:

I'm halfway convinced that binder clips reproduce asexually. I keep finding them everywhere: in my pockets, in my briefcase, on my desk, etc.

A more realistic answer would be that I keep forgetting to put them away, but I think office supplies spawning more office supplies is the better story.

Bluesky suspended Sarah Kendzior today for no reason whatsoever. She just shared excerpts of her articles, which were as always incisive and not offensive at all. Hey @pfrazee.com this is super not OK. I know her- we've interacted a fair bit via chats and her work is essential.

🤞last-second Ron Johnson brain aneurysm🤞
So the Senate vote to advance the funding deal is currently 56-40. All the Democrats have voted. FOUR Republicans have not yet voted: John Cornyn, Rick Scott, Ron Johnson and Mike Lee. All of them need to vote YES to get this to 60, otherwise it fails.

If you have a Dem senator and you're seeing this right now, CALL THEM RIGHT NOW and tell them NO. If you don't know anyone who would be affected by this, call them for my friend Lisa. She cannot afford insurance without ACA subsidies and without health insurance I'm terrified she will die.

Say it ain't so, @baldwin.senate.gov
We know 8.
There are eight Democrats in the gang, enough to break a filibuster on a funding bill. They are: Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Gary Peters (D-MI), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Peter Welch (D-VT), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

While they’re still screwing about with SNAP, it’s a good idea to donate to pet shelters, too.

If you dare show up with “poor people shouldn’t have pets”, I will tear such a new one it generates a black hole.

Families on SNAP worry about not just feeding themselves but also their pets
With SNAP benefits going out late, nonprofits are begging for pet food donations to prevent desperate owners from surrendering their dogs and cats to animal shelters.

An excellent piece of journalism here from the New York Times about just one large vendor, Equifax, who will profit from the new Medicaid work requirement that will cause people who desperately need health insurance to lose it while for profit companies benefit.
