I get triggered by something & don’t know what to do to calm down. Then I remember - stimming. The answer for folks like me is always to stim. That is my body’s built in system to release distress.

They say that the older you get, the more conservative you become. I think that's only applicable if you're also experienced relative stability and are insulated from the dynamics of the world to some degree (hence a want to conserve that atmosphere).
