This is a really important point! Young men are obviously attracted to politicians who portray strength and tenacity. When Dems roll over and show their bellies at the first sign of conflict, it reinforces the idea that the party and everyone in it is weak/effeminate/low-T.

When trans women are placed in men’s prisons, they’re commonly assigned to cells with aggressive cis male cellmates in order to maintain social control. They’re often raped daily. This process is so common that it has a name—“V-coding”—and is known to effectively be part of a trans woman's sentence.

“I don’t believe the government has any business regulating sports. The specific rules for who can and cannot compete in a given league are best left up to its governing bodies, not politicians.”

Is there no one on the Democratic side who can tell them that this sucks? This is such an embarrassing, wimpy response to our current moment. It would’ve been more impactful for the caucus to stay home and leave half the chamber empty. Your very presence there legitimizes this regime.

Good messaging cue for anyone speaking/writing about this, too. “Probationary” implies that workers were put on leave for misconduct; “new hires” is more easily understood and has added emotional impact.
if I were writing stories about the gov "firing thousands of probationary workers" I would probably rewrite as "firing thousands of new hires -- who are often on a status called "probation" --" because I think the general understanding of "probation" is "in trouble for something they did"
