It's almost annoying how smart the idea is of taking over the Church of England. It's weak as fuck, but has institutional power and loads of assets. And what is the pushback really? Do loads of anti-racists atheists have to join to fight them off? Can they truly be arsed?

For those who keep hearing about how Disco Elysium is one of the greatest games ever made: it's free on Epic Games Store, INCLUDING THE MAC VERSION (which doesn't seem to be on Internet Archive unless I've missed something)

but only for the next 18 hours, SO GRAB IT

They know that if Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, were not there sniveling in the dark, the other one, the flute-player, could make no joyful music as the young riders line up in their beauty for the race in the sunlight of the first morning of summer.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, lived happily ever after, playing the piano for his sister at the city concert hall, which is all she ever wanted.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, still dreamed of cyberspace, hope fading nightly. All the speed he took, all the turns he'd taken and the corners he cut in Night City, and he'd still see the matrix in his dreams, bright lattices of logic unfolding across that colourless void...

Also, earlier today I was playing Minecraft with my daughter, who now has many massive secret lairs. she demanded I pick a pet for myself. I chose a chicken. She labeled it but missed the Z when typing and thus it was named:

Yo let’s chicken

i don’t know where we should use that name but i love it

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die with two double bourbons inside him, sat in the final departure lounge of Miami Airport and thought about life and death.
The snow in the mountains was melting and Tiny Tim had NOT been dead for several weeks before we came to understand the gravity of our situation.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

If you regularly get a Knowledge Management bee in your bonnet, as I do, then look at this piece (and @emckean.bsky.social 's talk). It's absolutely packed with useful concepts and tips from people who've been there, done that, and compressed it all into tiny shiny diamonds.

Heading to a Chabad lighting in Noe Valley later. I’ve known the rabbi for nearly twenty years, and they hosted a lovely event for my family’s celebration last Shabbat, and I’m trying not to think too much about the other thing.

Wishing a safe and happy Chanukah to all who celebrate. ❤️

Someone needs to petition Remedy for this, because the first Control game is just FULL of Federal Records Act and Paperwork Reduction Act failures
Control 2: Quality Control puts the player back in the shoes of Director Jesse Faden in her toughest mission yet: ensuring that every office chair in Oldest House conforms to government standards so that the Bureau can resume normal operations.

NEW in Bolts: Local officials in Newark, Jersey City, and Trenton want civilian agencies that can investigate police and issue subpoenas. But they keep running into the state’s Democratic leaders.

Given all the babies who look like famous politicians (Nixon, Churchill, etc.) I would love a trend where babies play those people in movies

and I don’t care whether the other characters notice that the president seems to be a baby. either way is fine, let’s just get the baby in before we worry abo

I have absolutely no idea. I don’t even know if I’d be employable as anything else, and this thought regularly terrifies me
Double aside: which trade would you align with if you didn't have a cushy tech job is a great question!

Electrician/networking is too obvious so I disallow that.

I'd either do drywall or framing.

Roofing is out. Not because of fall risk, but because it is so hot up there! Did once. Never again.🙅🏿‍♂️

Meta's Horizon Worlds continues to look like a product with leaders who don't actually want to use a virtual world, or understand the appeal.

There is no amount of money which can fix that.
Mark Zuckerberg believed in the Metaverse so much he changed his company's name to "Meta" in 2021 and spent over $70 billion on this fantastical virtual reality chat space that has less functionality than VR Chat.

Now, in 2025, he doesn't even mention it. And investors still give him money to burn
Mark Zuckerberg is never right:

A brief history of why we have car fuel economy standards:

- In 1973-1974 we had the Arab Oil Embargo. Oil and gas prices tripled overnight, if you could get gas at all. Gas stations had lines around the block or "no gas"signs out front. American struggled to keep their V8 gas guzzlers fueled up.
