TOPMed imputation server question:

Does anyone know why there is a requirement for the input sample size to be at least 20? How do I impute a single genome?
(Replicating the target genome 20 times leads to removal of all hom SNPs, as they become "monomorphic")

Any better alternatives?

It is a major PhD project of Yitang Sun. I am very excited to see this work out. I learned so much about the genetics of circulating fatty acids. This is a solid foundation for more research to come regarding gene-diet interactions for omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Super excited to witness this project coming to fruition! I was part of the initial pilot project that recruited ~60 participants. I can imagine the amount of work to recruit over 500 participants during the COVID years! Super impressed that @abarad.bsky.social and Kimberly got it done!
Huge thanks to @kcklatt.bsky.social for having us on the AJCN 🎙️ to chat about the FeGenes study! Stay tuned for our next paper on the genetics of Fe absorption in this cohort, in collaboration with @yekaixiong.bsky.social. Exciting steps towards precision nutrition!
