Kim Davis is entitled to freedom of speech, as are we all. However, her use of a public office to deliberately hurt people by robbing them of fundamental rights has nothing to do with freedom of speech. She is a symbol of the evil of American radical right-wing christianity.

I watched "I Like Me" tonight. It's a wonderful movie about a wonderful person. I wanted to know more about John Candy, and I am happy to learn that he was the person I thought he was. We need more people like him, but we need to ensure they get the support they need.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

Everyone needs to hear Dowd's message. When health insurance companies make decisions that result in suffering and death in order to increase profits, it will push someone over the edge. The same goes for Kirk's hate speech. Disregard for life leads to more disregard for life.
