In my spare time I run an opera company, and I have made it my #1 priority to pay artists asap. As soon as an invoice hits my inbox, I drop whatever I'm doing and pay it. This is me drunk on power, LOL.

but how are you supposed to know if the car parked in the spot you dug out is the car that moved your space saver in the first place?

I am an avowed inbox-zero emailer but I can’t quite bring myself to delete this edition of the excellent Continuous Wave, many many gems in this one…audio nerds don’t miss this one
A media studies prof makes the argument in his new book that feelings are not enough to support a media ecosystem. Believe me when I say that @jasonloviglio.bsky.social's argument is persuasive. Running an excerpt this week: continuous-wave.beehiiv.com/p/wonder-tak...

I knocked on doors for Jared Golden, this is super disappointing
Jared Golden sees what ICE is doing to Minneapolis and welcomes the same to his district. I expect that from Republicans. But it's Dems like this that wreck the Party brand and make it harder for us to win. Thankfully he understands his limitations and is throwing himself out of politics.
jared golden is a useless bastard

On this, another day in the horror show, listening to this conversation between Samin Nosrat and @samsanders.bsky.social was a true Delight. Samin: "I've learned that if I let other people take care of me, they will." It's true, it's true. www.kcrw.com/shows/the-sa... @kcrw.com

Alex is not just a cool dude, but a good dude committed to doing things the right way. And a freakishly great podcaster, one of the GOATS. He and his show deserve your support!

Hi, every so often I post about the financial health of my independent podcast, @hyperfixedpod.bsky.social, and I wanted to post an update for the new year. The short version: We're looking to add 1500 premium subscribers this year so I can pay for health insurance for everyone I work with.

Would sure be a coup for public media to nab Colbert...
Canceling Colbert? It’s definitely not part of the Trump bribe. Do not put in the newspaper that this is part of the Trump bribe. We’re just canceling the number one show in its time slot because of… reasons. Backdrops! Headwinds! Serious TV business.
