The actual story is that a family of American citizens trying to evacuate from a neighborhood that ICE had made unsafe, and then ICE tossed munitions into the car, causing three kids to be hospitalized and a six month old to stop breathing. DHS called the family “radical agitators”

Priscilla, you've seen Jeeja's movie CHOCOLATE, right? I feel a duty to make sure because the fights in it are all-timers. I also dig a crazy one she did called RAGING PHOENIX which is about people stealing tears and there's a fight on pogo stilts.

apologize for including that giant list in my letterboxd review but I wanted to clarify to non-action nerds why I was so excited for this one

The Furious (dir. Kenji Tanigaki)

the most fun i had in a theatre in a long time, this film is simply a blast from start to finish and i cannot wait to see it again next year in theaters and to finally own it on blu ray. and when you see comparisons to The Raid...this is not an exaggeration!

Home sick so I watched some movies because getting out of bed is hard.

Anyway I started 2025 with the goal of watching as many martial arts movies as possible, and I far exceeded my expectations last January. Today marked 156 martial arts themed movies. Top 64:

James Hong has somehow only ever been nominated for awards (not Oscars) for Kung Fu Panda, and as part of an ensemble for Everything Everywhere All At once.

But he got a Good Conduct Medal from the Minnesota Army National Guard and I bet Leonardo diCaprio never did.
Name your fav actor or actress who's never nominated for an Oscar.

#MartialLawIIUndercover (1991) was a surprise. I was told that it would be a significant improvement over the original and they weren't joking. #CynthiaRothrock still billed second, but much better utilized. Chad McQueen is recast, replaced by Jeff Wincott. Billy Drago stands out as usual. 4/5.

The CBS 60 Minutes Doc confirms what we knew: The U.S. is currently using our tax dollars to imprison brown people with no criminal record in torture camps overseas.

It’s no wonder administration shill Bari Weiss pulled this off the air: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjY7...

I'm a kung fu/horror movie junkie and tubi, plex, Pluto, and even youtube are great resources for all kinds of gems. I do spend the money for hi-yah, shout factory TV, and shudder but my planning includes finding gems I really want to see and just aren't easily available.

THE ARMOUR OF GOD (1986)
Dir: Jackie Chan
Format: UK Blu-ray
Keep it/Bin it: Keep it
Notes: I think this was the first Jackie Chan film I ever saw (aside from THE CANNONBALL RUN) after seeing clips on The Incredibly Strange Film Show.

#FilmSky 📽️ fond cinema memory: watching PACIFIC RIM in an empty theater at the little mini multiplex here in Luray. at the end, I stood up & said "that was fun! where is everybody?" to no one. 😅

And I totally get why #Clue gained its ultimate cult status. It does a good job at utilizing the aspects of the board game into the film. While also working reasonably well as a murder mystery/whodunit spoof providing a decent amount of genuinely funny moments. 📽️🎞️

Can’t believe it took me so long to watch this! Brilliant action. The kitchen scene is one of the best fight sequences I’ve ever seen. #filmsky

In the last week I reached 150 martial arts movies watched for the first time in 2025. I decided for 2026 I would focus on rewatching movies I've only seen once.
