THIS EMPTY THEATER IS THE REASON COMCAST AND NETFLIX SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO BUY WARNER BROTHERS. THEY ARE ALL VANGUARD OWNED COMPANIES. MERGERS KILL COMPETITION WHICH HAS KILLED THE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY

Love to see two old Shaw Brothers stars, Chin Siu Ho and Norman Tsui go at it in Taoist Priest. ESPECIALLY when you get a dope Demon of the Lute reference thrown in for good measure! Also...third hand technique! lol

The Master Returns: Ghost Prisoner (2024 Zhang Dicai) Zhang directs/stars as a Taoist priest in this Mr Vampire esque throwback. A bit slow to begin, but full of cool, Ching Siu-tung esque wire-fu battles in the back half. At 76 minutes, it doesn't waste your time either. Good fun!

#filmsky Predator Badlands (2025)

Great addition to the Predator franchise. Was worried when it was first announced. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Well trodden themes explained the Predator culture without prior knowledge. Great action scenes showing off some iconic tools and ecology.

Pretty much everyone who has seen #TheFurious has said it's one of the best martial arts flicks of the decade and an action movie game changer akin to The Raid.

That makes me moderately proud to have recently interviewed its director, Kenji Tanigaki. 😎

You can't think of a fascist as a person who can be reasoned with. A fascist sees compromise as failure, as one once told me directly. It's you losing a battle with them, boosting their morale, telling them this is a war they can win. They value dominance and you proved they could dominate.
If you give a fascist an inch, they will take everything.

Do not concede points to them if you want to bargain or negotiate, because they're not here to be civil. They want to eliminate you in the most horrible way they can currently achieve.

So close to perfect, with a few deadly flaws holding it back.

Still, I adored this. Beautiful serene minimalism, wholly commited to being about martial arts (a fictional one that Marko Zaror invented himself!) and the warrior's path.

Zaror should be a star.

A short clip demonstrating the titular "Fist of The Condor" martial art used by the protagonist

Cinematically, I love what Zaror & Espinoza do here. A beautiful ode to classic kung fu choreography, imbued with his own unique iconography, whilst also showing off his athleticism
