The golden sky bleeds into the sea.
Footsteps fade where dreams may be.
Waves breathe whispers soft and low.
The sun dips down in an amber glow.
Moss and stone in the twilight gleam.
A world half-waking, half a dream.
One lone figure, calm and small.
evening’s hush embraces all.

This amazing image by Don Goldman shows the central region of the open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50), in the heart of the Rosette Nebula (also known as Caldwell 49).

The cluster and nebula lie some 5,000 ly away in Monoceros.

End the day with a quiet smile. Let its weight rest for a while. The sky above you is like a canvas, waiting for the dreams you hold within. Paint it gently with everything you feel, the hopes you guard, the wounds that are healing.

Tomorrow may be the day we hear car horns honking, pots and pans banging, and people laughing, and know exactly why as we prepare to dance in the streets.
