Tomorrow when I wake up, I'll be older than I've ever been, for the first time in 20 years. It's an odd story of the time I spent in a coma. In my early 20s, I had a near-fatal lung infection, 90 days in the ICU. As a last-ditch effort, doctors put me in a medically induced coma. 1/5

Record (or near record) dry grass/ soil moisture in North/ NW FL.
In the future this will become more common. Not for lack of rain. Instead due to warmer - more thirsty air - stripping the ground of moisture. In decades climate projections show the air could be 50% more thirsty over FL!

A crucial store of carbon in Australia’s tropical forests has switched from carbon sink to carbon source
The woody biomass of Australia’s tropical rainforests has already switched from carbon sink to carbon source – and the reason is climate change.

Good reporting on widespread Douglas-fir mortality in SW Oregon.

I lived on the edge of the Ashland watershed mentioned in the article ca. 2012-2014.

Even then I was seeing patchy mortality from crowding/drought that I knew would get much worse as temps warmed.
