Dear GOD if you want to save money in the asylum system

1. LET ASYLUM SEEKERS WORK

2. FAST TRACK STATUS FOR EVERYONE FROM CLEARLY UNDAFE COUNTRIES like Sudan, Syria, etc

Politicians and news agencies don’t talk about this enough. We need more working age people otherwise pension age will just keep going up and up.
It would also cripple the pensions system. If the number of people actually working and paying taxes to support it, pensions would have to be reduced or folk would have to work later in life before retiring.

Final harvest of the season from my greenhouse. Hard to believe we’re only 2 weeks from November and I’m still picking tomatoes. Batch cooking for the freezer tomorrow! 😋🍅

Twelve Jobs Nigel has earned over £1 million in additional income since the general election.

To understand the scale of it, since the July 2024 election he's earned roughly £100k more as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion than Starmer gets as PM.

I was quite surprised, given the amount of negative press that would have you believe that this government is the worst we’ve had yet.

I’ll put the link in the next post but given we had a complete shit show with the Tories, this is astonishing. Do reshare or bookmark the link, it’s handy.

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

Here's a parody adaptation of the classic song "Walking in Memphis" by the soulful Marc Cohn, in which we address Donald Trump's arrival in the UK for his exciting historic second state visit.

It's called "Put Up Some Fences" 🎹🎶

Today, Parliament debated child sexual abuse. Not a single Reform UK MP turned up. The party that constantly rants about “Pakistani" and immigrant gangs - yet when it comes to an actual Commons statement on child rape, they couldn’t be bothered.
Hypocrisy doesn’t get more blatant than this.

This doesn't mean the state pension is unaffordable, or that it's a Ponzi scheme - it's covered by taxation on a "pay as you go" basis in the same way as every other state pension scheme in the world.

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.
