May take a while to:

1 find the vault that Boris hid them in

2 find the vault combination

3 dust off all the cobwebs

4 translate them from ancient greek which Boris had them written in

Favourite phrase "get stuffed"?

And also release the report on the long term effects of Brexit that the Tories commissioned and then hid from sight.

Looking forward to you doing the Hammersmith Empire by bus. Actually, I'm recording it as i still have to catch up on Digging For Britain.

So how many would watch reruns of Whistle Test if the BBC put that on in this slot? Probably even more. With TOTP, there is a lot of dross to sit through to see the real gems, like Alex Harvey, last night.

Fine then. But i bet that won't be the story this summer in the papers.

I know. So it was up to the Labour government to take action to remedy this imposition. The whole farce of Brexit should have been their number one priority.
February 5, 2026 at 4:40 PM
You would have thought that the incoming Labour Government, fully aware of this going to happen, would have already taken steps to remove this disruption imposed on British travellers by the previous Tory government.

Or are they simply arguing (as usual) that this is what "the British voted for"?

It was, if I remember correctly, on the corner of Alder Street. My memory is also of checked plastic tablecloths.

I remember one on Bradford Road, by the railway viaduct called Chiefie's. That must have been an early one.

To which Labour should respond with the old "we'll show you our's if you show us your's". Demands for transparency could hit the Tories far more!

Given the state of Britain's road signs and road markings, which, presumably, these vehicles navigate by, it is difficult to see how they can operate safely. You only need to look at how many human drivers get HGVs stuck on unsuitable roads to see what a problem it will be for driverless cars.

On yer bike, mate!

And then complain!

There was a report on the effects of Brexit on the UK economy but Johndon hid it.
January 31, 2026 at 9:23 AM
Two points. Firstly, they had eight years in government to arrange a "proper" Brexit so why didn't they? Also, do they even know what a proper Brexit is?

Would you want a combover like the lead singer of Sutherland Bros?
January 30, 2026 at 9:31 PM
Why? Win or lose, they won't see hide nor hair of him after the election.
January 28, 2026 at 8:07 AM
Presumably, once the election is over, win or lose, Gorton will never see him again.
January 28, 2026 at 7:58 AM
Maybe so. I was commenting on this specific location. But, this location is probably fairly standard to the UK.

Assuming there is another adjacent street which can also be made one way only.

As an ex-traffic engineer, it is often easy to see a beneficial solution to a problem. Introducing that solution may actually be possible, despite likely objections, but enforcing it properly is a whole different matter.
January 26, 2026 at 3:53 PM
As it stands, it appears that there is parking on both sides of the street. These could be removed by the introduction of a traffic regulation order, prohibiting waiting. However, this would still allow loading/unloading and removing that, and enforcing a ban, would be much more difficult.
January 26, 2026 at 3:35 PM
From a practical point of view, the question for a traffic planner is which set of shops (there appear to be shops on both sides of the road) are going to lose loading/unloading facilities, and can a legal ban on loading/unloading actually be properly enforced?
