Anyway have a live blog of The Brothers Karanazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
His notes are incredibly useful to everything:

1) You can get 7, 8, or 9 out of 10 by just doing the basics right

2) Keep things simple and don't overdue things that be messed up by fussing with them too much

3) When something is good and important, make sure there's plenty of it or more on tap.

I won't say I never do it but gosh I wish people actually read articles before commenting on and boosting them

day's half over and I've already seen a few different articles get a lot of play where the substance of the article is not what the commentary is at all.

Remember when "America has many groups of people in it and that's good and makes us strong" was an uncontroversial - even cliched - viewpoint that was universally endorsed across the political spectrum?

We can go back! We just have to get rid of the tiny handful of bitter, angry men in the way.

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

Eliminating ICE is the modern equivalent of opposing the Iraq War, and right now there are two types of Democrats: those who can see where the ball is moving and go to it, and those who will be swept away because they refused to do so.
“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said.

“Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back.

“Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

Lukewarm pablum about kitchen-table reforms offends no one, and tests really well in polls. But chase those polls too hard and you become the Lukewarm Kitchen-Table Pablum Party that’s impossible to love and easy to hate.

Destroying a recently-renovated Kennedy Center so you can build a larger structure with your own name on it is megalomania, plain and simple. There’s no economic or political rationale. Just his bottomless desire to see himself honored and feted.

for bringing Liam back to his friends and families.

He endured more than any 5-year-old ever should. Now more than ever, we need to get ICE out of Minnesota.

A thing with the Epstein Files is we do have to remember that a story as big as this attracts cranks as well as real reports.

I have begun to think that Minnesota pushback to ICE was unique and a model because it gave people something to do. It wasn’t about just going out in streets for rallying purposes. People had a mission: videos, whistles, information and communication flow to communities. They had something to do.

Unless you know them, don’t trust “independent journalists.” They’re often parasites. I know people distrust the mainstream press but established journalists at established outlets using their real names are 100 times more reliable and honest than the endless parade of YouTubers and bloggers.
