Writer of the novel "The Apparition Phase", Audible's comedy/drama "High Strangeness", and the paranormal investigation podcast "Broken Veil". Along with lots of other stuff.
This is the same James Bond who has regenerated half a dozen times into an entirely different person? I think he'll be fine.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”
Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:
“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

All in all, I really enjoyed ‘Frankenstein’. Someone should make a film of it.

THIS, FOREVER.
Me, giggling like a goblin, strapping myself into the BBC Boss chair, commissioning non-celeb sitcom & sketch show after another. High concept narrative comedies by women! 100 shows with writers rooms! Tell whatever celeb blokes are doing a travel show they can make their own way back from Bordeaux!

Comments like the one below ALWAYS make a writer's day, and are incredibly welcome and kind. If you've loved a book, do try and tell the author! (NB: this doesn't work with dead ones)
I just read this, and would definitely recommend it. Sometimes, on finishing a book, one can feel bereft at being chucked out of that world (even if that world is unappealing, like the early '70s. I was there, and it wasn't great). Anyway, this was one of those books; 'WTF am I gonna do now?'
As we're WELL into spooky season now, might I take this chance to once again recommend my 1970s-set ghost story The Apparition Phase, which first came out in 2020. As I always say, if you like ghosts, chances are you'll like this. Whoooo! etc.

I haven’t talked about this much yet, but I cannot WAIT for people to read the book I’ve been writing for a very long time. Not long to wait now before it’s out there…

The Amityville Horror. A frequently daft and OTT movie if youre an adult. I saw it as a kid and it literallly poured out of the screen in a tsunami of absolute dread
What horror movie did you see WAY too young?
Mine was Poltergeist.

Literary fiction is a genre, same as any other, with the same small toolkit of tricks and tropes and cliches as any other genre. It's also one of the easiest to do badly and still be taken seriously.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

Well, it took them three seasons, but Hulu finally produced an all-time classic episode of Futurama (“The White Hole”). Surprising, original and hilarious. Good news, everyone.

Stunning creepy Signalman artwork here, but be warned it doesn’t give you sleepless nights (thanks @gralefrit.bsky.social)
Study.com features a helpful analysis video of #signalman that I've never dared watch, because I can't get past the *magnificent* thumbnail that greets you on the front page. I mean, that's just nailed the eery, spine-shredding terror of the piece perfectly, hasn't it?
