I just can't get over that their justification for this kind of illiberal authoritarianism is "to protect Jews." It so obviously makes us less safe.

Please verify this If true - an epic disaster on top of a catastrophe.
Not only did the Trump regime mess up their own opsec, they also committed a war crime. They targeted residential buildings in Yemen, missed their target, and killed civilians instead.
The Trump regime accidently leaked its top secret war plans to a journalist at the Atlantic. In the chat the Trumpians trash talk Europe calling it pathetic and worry about the safety of Saudi interests.
They also plot among themselves how much money they should try to extort Europe and Egypt for.

Only thing I can add to this jawdropping story: the Houthis have partially blocked the Red Sea/Suez since Dec 2023 but container freight has largely adjusted without much higher cost (though using more fuel going round Africa) & there's no world shipping crisis that demands military intervention.

My question is ... what device are they using this "civilian app" on?
Important thing about this jaw-dropping story is that even if Jeff Goldberg hadn't been invited into the chat, Hegseth was sending out detailed military stuff over a civilian app that *even the other people in the conversation probably didn't need to know about*
