Seconding this. If it's a PS5-like experience, but without the digital games tax, and free multiplayer, and free cloud saves, and it has better backwards compatibility, and PS5 games come out one year later...

Chatting to colleagues in the run up to this reveal, I've had disagreements. Primarily around the idea that the market for this is limited to only existing PC users. Which very much was the case for the Deck for the most part. But I think if Valve sticks its neck out, this could be different.

Finished setting up my new toy and man, I love it. Loads of problems, but it's so nice to have something that isn't my phone that plays music and actually has a decent DAC.

Really shortsighted, this. But it’s not surprising because the staff there are constantly trying to write quality stuff while management pushes ridiculous quotas and the bean counters involve themselves in editorial decisions. It’s why I left four years ago. Thought I could change things, couldn’t.
