Local independent outlets like @lataco.bsky.social have been doing great work covering the ICE raids, but absent a) strong opposition from elected officials, b) acknowledgement from @mayor.lacity.gov, and c) more mainstream coverage, people will continue to be at risk.

I just saw Weapons…huh. I hadn’t read anything about it…and now I’m seeing that some have said it’s about addiction? I thought it was a tale of a boomer who needed to feed off everyone younger than her in order to survive…

We went to the Huntington today, through drizzle and rain, and it was lovely in part because it was the least populated I’ve ever seen it in the last 15 years I’ve been going there ☔️

It’s the eve of my kid’s 15th birthday, and she has been talking about wanting this very thing for the past year.

Just calling the kid’s high school to inform them that ice has been spotted all over the area…they told me they were aware, and they’ll never let anyone in. But my concern is when school gets out. They of course couldn’t offer any reassurance there.

ICE is patrolling from the ocean to La Brea & W Jefferson Blvd to National Blvd. Beginning at 9:45 am, there have been multiple reports of known ICE vehicles circling in order to conduct rolling kidnappings. So far, ICE has detained at least 7 people.

i really truly wish any of the epstein furore was caused by a genuine concern for cruelty for teenage girls, for exploited kids. it would be a different country if it was, of course, but the discourse is sometimes jarring
