My prayer is that someone from another faith - or no faith-can look to their Christian neighbour & say:
“They’re kinda weird & whacky, but I can reliably turn to them for love & support; free from condemnation & judgement!”
When our neighbours see this they’ll see the reflection of Christ in us.

The political right have done a masterful job in selling these myths to voters (alongside the “taxes are always bad” trope).
what is fascinating to me is the number of people whose “knowledge” of government appears to just be an accumulation of cliches and stereotypes + an inchoate sense that if something is big and costly then it must necessarily be “wasteful”
Interesting piece which reveals a lot of the tech bro ignorance of government: DOGEr comes in, expects to find lots of inefficiency, is at least willing to acknowledge he was wrong unlike the hard core ideologues.

3) Anyone questioning electoral integrity in Canada tonight, especially re: how votes are counted, ballots protected, etc. is to be ignored. Advance polls are likely to be counted last. Late swings in close ridings are therefore likely. This is not a conspiracy, just how counting is done.

Elections Canada sent people to the cancer ward to make sure people didn’t miss their opportunity to vote. I haven’t been this impressed with democracy in Canada since we kept the People’s Party of Canada out of the House of Commons. Twice.
