One can't assume moderation exists in a vacuum ignoring the political/economic environment. When people are frustrated and are looking for a change/disruption less moderation may be more appealing - hence the 2024 election. Given Kamala lost it's hard to say she would have won with MORE moderation.
Basically, Morris (and everyone else participating in this "debate") agree that moderates do better and just don't want to acknowledge that this is true.
basically yglesias, jain, jentleson, WelcomePAC donors etc all base their prescriptions for Dems on a statistical model that nobody can replicate, and refuse to acknowledge (a) that uncertainty dwarfs the detectable effect of moderation & (b) that the last year has proved their views wrong!!
