Ohhh it’s because there’s enforcement! Let’s get this uptown on Muses night next year plz
NOPD crew out on Orleans confiscating Chad shit. Love to see it. Bye bye tables and tarps.

the Orleans neutral ground is strangely light on Chad activity for just 24 hours out from Endymion; perhaps they are all still tired from their occupation of Muses

we used to watch on St Charles but stopped after 2022. it is so miserable.
we had a good time at the very beginning at Valmont & Mag for the last couple years (including tonight) but also it is just getting more stupid there, too, with folks tying chairs together etc

It felt that way to me before I left town. I thought it might have just been my non-native self intruding.

The floats were great but I just wasn’t feeling the crowd. I watched from the back of the throng in an intersection. Left midway through. No ragerts.

It really is. Last year I made a note that it was too much crowdwise and to skip this year.

Migraine kept me from Muses this year & last, but two years ago on magazine was my first bummer vibes at Muses experience. Damn shame!
Tonight offered more evidence that Muses, at least on Mag, now has the worst, most entitled, meanest crowd in Carnival.

officially announcing that i will no longer be arguing that Boheme is the best walking parade because too many of you are now going to Boheme and we need to cull the crowd before it’s too late

There is no excuse for any decent person to still be using that website. None.
Elon Musk chatbot repeatedly making CSAM on demand should be one of the single biggest stories right now and it's effectively a collective shrug instead

the first book I am reading in 2026 is Will There Ever Be Another You by Trish Lockwood and I am reading it with a brain zapped by antihistamines and sick kids — 11/10 would recommend this approach

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

It doesn’t make a mockery of college football so much as it reveals to fans of the rich teams that the whole thing is already just charade meant to enrich coaches and admins at a handful of parasitic athletic departments.
From @theathletic.com: The timing of Lane Kiffin’s move to LSU makes a mockery of college football, our columnist writes. Imagine if a player tried to leave one SEC school for another in the middle of the season for a ton of money. nyti.ms/4oqebwn
