These high provider costs are what "abundance agenda" in healthcare could tackle:

• Create more doctors, remove BA requirements, start people in med school at age 18, and create more residency slots
• Lift certificate of need rules, more hospitals
• Lower reimbursements

Bible sales are up 22% in the US thru end of October, vs same period last year, according to book tracker Circana BookScan. By contrast, total U.S. print book sales were up less than 1% in that period.
(No it's not Trump-brand bibles - they're not included in this tally)

Sales of Bibles Are Booming, Fueled by First-Time Buyers and New Versions
Publishers attribute a 22% jump in Bible sales this year to rising anxiety, a search for hope, or highly focused marketing and designs.

The replies are mostly a mix of (a) CVS needs to hire more staff, & (b) wages should be higher so people don't want to steal.

No-one is asking the question: how come we see this in some cities, but here in Huntsville, Ala. we can pick most things directly off the shelf and put them in our baskets?
Oh look! It’s a gallery of things I must now order online because it takes 20 minutes to find the Keeper of the Deodorant Key
I get the need to safeguard from shoplifting but this CVS setup is insane.

Israel tried to starve Gaza before and the international community reacted. Why isn’t it doing anything now?

This is a really interesting story of critical mass playing out in real time.

Big question:
Why not Threads? Ex ante, it seems like it should have been an obvious choice.
Is it some features that Threads lacked? Starter packs on Bluesky? The algorithms? Something else I'm overlooking?
WOW!

More people are visiting Bluesky than Threads, even though Bluesky has far fewer users and isn’t linked to the world’s largest social network. Incredible.
