Years ago, I wrecked my Jeep. It was minor, thankfully. But Apple caused it. Before I learned to shut off auto everything, my phone updated one night. And when it fell over in the car, the song changed. “Shake to shuffle” had been forced. It startled me. Et voila. Please don’t change our stuff!
Samsung tablet updated today and immediately replaced the button I use to turn off my phone with a button that turns on Gemini's AI interface.
I didn't want this. I didn't select this. Yet here I am trying to figure out how to turn this garbage off.

Years ago, I wrecked my Jeep. It was minor, thankfully. But Apple caused it. Before I learned to shut off auto everything, my phone updated one night. And when it fell over in the car, the song changed. “Shake to shuffle” had been forced. It startled me. Et voila. Please don’t change our stuff!
Haven’t managed anything else, despite some things I really should do. And I discovered a small oil leak leading to major anxiety. I know/hope it’s just the drain plug is a bit loose, but Winona is so old everything scares me. And I need her tomorrow. But I can go to the oil place first. Anyway: 😬🥺
Yesterday, got Winona’s tires rotated/balanced. Bought her a new spare too. Today, had her oil changed. Came home, applied Rain-X, then changed her air filter and in cabin air filter. I think I should be done adulting for today. But alas. A few more things to sneak in if I can. That said, go me! 🚙🏆

People conveniently forget the absolute furor over a woman captain. I remember the “jokes” about the ship being named for a minivan and it getting lost. And that was the tame part.
It is interesting to note that #StarTrek #Voyager, so beloved in retrospect, was thought "woke" ("politically correct" was the term way back then) at its premiere.

I know it’s a small thing. But I drove to Austin today and the signage on the highway still reads Fort Cavazos. I was dreading seeing my friend’s name being gone. But it was still there. At least for now.

You know how umbrella salesman form out of the first raindrops to hit the sidewalk in NYC? Well, in Minnesota, when you get stuck in the snow, people with snow shovels just appear out of the snow drifts to help out.

This morning in Minneapolis, an ICE vehicle got stuck on an icy hill in a residential neighborhood. Agents had to push the vehicles out, some almost slipping in the ice themselves.
