Yes please.
No lawmaker in Congress should be able to buy, own, and sell individual stocks. Period. Let's make Congressional stock trading illegal.

When I read "badness of American Canton" my first thought was that this might be a take on the NFL Hall of Fame in Ohio.

Must say...I am relieved.
I thought you guys were exaggerating the badness of American Canton but oh boy. It’s very very badly written. Shockingly so. I don’t even say that meanly. Did she use AI? What happened here???

Also Starr is offering to help out an “unhappy friend” of Epstein’s who apparently has been accused of some kind of sexual misconduct, perhaps at university. Remember Starr helped cover up sexual misconduct on football team when he was president of Pepperdine

This needs to happen.

So I'm sure the Democrats in Congress won't do it.
Now that Dems have capitulated, at the very least they should now make every future extension of funding contingent on Trump following the law. Any lawbreaking must be met with: No more votes from us, period.

My exchange with @brianbeutler.bsky.social on that point:

My guess is that this is retaliation against Meloni for some kind of actual or perceived rejection.

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

He is 100% correct.
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

I know Project 2029 will have a laundry list of line items to flesh out but modernizing and overhauling the conflict of interest infrastructure to prevent future presidents from so brazenly monetizing the presidency has to be on the list.

I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.
