Should get a tattoo of my name so that when future archaeologists find my body preserved in ice they don't name me Oulu.

Previously I said that I hate medleys. But a vtuber doing 5-minute DJ sets consisting of 15-second clips & snippets is something different.

The slightest annoyance: music videos that use different music as an intro to the music video. Especially skippable if there's an old timey lofi radio effect.

Lots of these AI slop channels are seemingly run by one person or a small group of people. They all link to each other, spam each other with fake comments about how they are Ukrainian soldiers fighting insomnia and the video has soothed them. They publish hours of content every day

A cashier with a price tag in her hair,
is she real or just made of air?
La la la lalala.
Full price or half price?
2,77 euros is not a bad price for a wig.

Got a call from the health center that my physical checkup has to be postponed a bit because the student who was on the phone made a mistake and reserved a time for a psychiatrist instead of a physician. At least they noticed their mistake early, this could've turned into a sketch comedy later.

The Way West (1967) is a pretty good film if you watch it like a session of a pen-and-paper overland dungeon crawl. Every scene is a random roll on an encounter table.

Colosseum 1st edition. The winner of a four-player game was decided by the final dice roll. Rolled badly and lost the game by 1 point. #boardgames

Neighbor was playing synthesizer chords at 5 in the morning. No songs, just random chords.

I was able to quickly fall asleep again, so I'm not complaining, just saying.

Previous neighbor often started using power tools at 7, so mellow synth pads at 5 is charming in comparison.

A term that just means being awake to injustices now has negative associations. The implication is fairly obvious: being asleep is the desirable quality. Being passive, unthinking, indifferent. The very act of caring becomes bad.

There's already a term for that: Orwellian. Asleep is awake.
I completely disagree. Being called “woke” is a f**king badge of honour. It’s the biggest compliment going. If people are so morally hollow that they turn basic human kindness into an insult then good luck to them. But woke is one of the few good things we’ve got going. So, woke it is.

If he had done Marty's moonwalk from Back to the Future III and launched his board in the air, this would be 10/10.
Just before the previous clip, the skater kid was practically taunting the Border Patrol agents by dancing around their munitions shots.

The Weighing of the Heart

She found out that I’m an atheist
and offered to buy my soul
to prove that I wouldn’t sell.
But when I immediately agreed
and even offered it for free,
she got scared and walked away.
Drop a feather on the scale,
I have like thousand souls
and they’re all for sale.

Why do we always talk about an event that happened now 36 years ago? Because authoritarian regimes function in part by erasing or rewriting history. The Chinese government still deny the Tiananmen Square Massacre happened. It did and we have to keep on saying as much until justice is served.

When I was a kid, some old person asked me “coffee or tea” as “kahvia jotta teetä”, which stuck to my mind because “jotta” means “so that”.

So I have to drink coffee in order to to drink tea? Meaning “jotta” also means “and”? So if I say yes, I must drink both?

You can spoil the movie for me, I don’t mind. I can just imagine in my head how it would feel like to watch it for the first time. It’s kinda like those reaction channels where people pretend they’re watching something for the first time, except I'm exaggerating my reactions only for myself.

Bought a box of oat biscuits & when I got home I noticed that the box had been already opened & half of the biscuits were gone. Dammit. That’s it. I’m never eating oat biscuits again & I’m never going back to that store. Never never ever never ever.

It’ll be a cold, dark wave
like a muted trombone;
one toot in the grave

The breath of a quiet drum
closing long-winded night
with a silent hum

It’ll be the tightest web
of loose strings; plastic spiders
spinning fiber optic cables

It’ll never be a happy end
It’ll be burning sauce
on a bitter pill
