Windows make all our buildings into human aquariums for the birds. They love to peep in and watch us work, it seems very entertaining for them.

You'd think I wouldn’t be angry about $200 in fees to get out of the country considering how much the trip itself costs, but no, still mad.

It's a helluva time to be a high school US history educator, I'll tell you what
Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.

It's my weekend and I'm staying up playing Coral Island like I don't have to do adult stuff tomorrow like go submit my passport application (I'm gonna go to Japan this summer. It's wildly fiscally irresponsible, but bucket list and all that).

Many fans are fearing for the future of the manga industry after an AI-generated title took the top sales spot on Japan's largest e-Book store. Some are arguing that AI slop derived from other artists' work should be segregated into a separate category.

Went outside for fresh air and a poor turkey vulture was having a hard time catching an updraft until it glided down into the grass next to me and looked disappointed like I had something to do with it.

You'd think that I could just absorb myself in work to distract myself from the horrors, but my current project is still looking at what people thought of their horrors 50/40/30/20 years ago instead of now. Good job everyone. You've learned absolutely nothing.

"But I like using it for grammar" - this is exactly what I'm talking about. We can't actually separate Grammarly AI from MechaHitler. It's all the same shit. Acting like one is fine and the other isn't is the problem. It's how we end up with genAI edtech.
