Beyond disgusted with the EHRC ‘guidance’ today which effectively seems to say trans people cannot use bathrooms which align with their gender identity OR, in many cases, ones which align with their so-called biological status. Where the fuck are trans ppl supposed to pee? #trans #EHRC

The announced changes to disability benefits will lead to very substantial falls in income for some families.

While some families will gain a small amount from the changes, others will lose thousands of pounds a year.

Good to see so many people at the emergency trans solidarity march yesterday. Although Sylvie may have stolen the show by doing a massive shit in front of Peter Tatchell #trans #transsolidarity #LGBwiththeT

As I watch Starmer tear up Labour's prospects by attacking people in poverty, abusing those who care about the living world and appeasing the ultra-rich, I feel the same sense of dislocation as I did before the Iraq War. Anyone can see the disaster coming, except, apparently, the government.

Just spent 10 days in US and Canada for conference/family visit. Deleted social media before entering US + pics of Palestinian peace marches. Many ppl didn’t attend due to visa worries, or fear for safety (mostly trans and other queer individuals). So this is what visiting a fascist state is like.

“There are tens of thousands of people who are desperate to get back into work,” Reeves has repeatedly claimed.

But she has totally failed to explain how disabled people are assisted to work by having money taken away from them.

The big-picture outlook for living standards remains grim after the Chancellor’s Spring Statement.

It’s particularly dismal for the poorer half of Britain, who are set to become £500 a year poorer over the Parliament.

The Trump administration so fervently believe that if they say something, it must be so, they seemed to think they could get away with lying about the nature of the Signal chat and…. The Atlantic just wouldn’t publish messages from the chat?

And with Labour's "review" of Access to Work already predicted to focus on cuts, in addition to those already being made and further restrictions on PIP, this only gets worse. Cutting funding and support doesn't help people get into work. Increasing it can. #r4today

I don't think enough of a stink is being made about the naked dishonesty of Reeves and Starmer's crap about 'get people “trapped on benefits” back into work'.

PIP is *incapable of trapping anyone.* You still get it if you're in work. It is one of the few UK benefits offering no perverse incentives!

AOC, @aoc.bsky.social, making the case for free speech alongside universal healthcare is so KEY for the left, because it's time progressives reclaimed the mantle of fighting for free speech from the faux free speech warriors of the right.
AOC: I want to live in an America that guarantees healthcare to every person.

I want to live in an America that has a living wage for every person

I want to live in an America where you have free speech to express yourself and not be afraid of being put on a list or deported.

The US just killed dozens of Yemenis, including kids.

"Why do they hate us?" asks the American public, blissfully ignorant of what's being done in its name in the Middle East by the US and its ally Israel.

Sigh.
