One literary genre I have always secretly enjoyed is corporate thrillers. Give me a setting where Excel spreadsheets are suddenly exciting and Linda from accounting isn’t what she seems.

Princess. She’s absolutely high-maintenance in a subtle way, a bit precious about the Fallow Mire, and is always poised.
Baron Van Markham would be symbolic of Viviana’s greatest fear: letting other people down, or worse, inaction. The War of the Banners was a moment she defied leadership to protect others, and succeeded in protecting them. Had she failed, it would destroy how she perceived her character.
