For brevity reasons (and it’s not hyphenated) I don’t always use my dad’s surname - Campbell. I’ve heard but can’t confirm his that middle name Mackenzie also denoted a clan affiliation, but I don’t think that’s going to stop me from being a bit of a dork about this.

To be clear this is not the same as tone policing social workers and other civil service employees for seemliness.
This is exactly what should happen to cops. Except some jail time and being blacklisted from employment in any law enforcement or civil service sector, or private security.

I saw The Sad Bastard Cookbook here so I mentioned it on Masto (in a "in case you need this" sense). It kinda went viral (1K shares). It jumped to a high ranking on Amazon and then they got media attention.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Listening to a new audiobook recording of the little drummer girl with Adjoa Andoh reading.
I’m still somewhat ambivalent about this book. It feels like JLC took a crack at a woman protagonist and kind of ended up with a plot musher. But I like Andoh and the book is also fun.

This is one of those people who knows they’re immoral because they don’t go around saying things like this in real life. Fully aware it’s an unacceptable and hateful thing to say so they come here where they feel safe using assaultive language masquerading as “academic”
