The suggestion that Kristi Noem, a white woman, is the "delicate, beautiful, tiny" victim after a Latino man is physically dragged out of a room fits into the admin's pretext of criminality it attaches to people who are not white.

Like Rep. LaMonica McIver.
The "delicate, beautiful, tiny" fascism of Kristi Noem
The right thinks Noem is the victim of Sen. Padilla's assault. But what about Rep. McIver?

Look, there are a lot of valid criticisms to make of the Ivies, but “fuck this administration, we’re making our civics courses free so you can understand WHY fuck this administration” is a baller move.

3 cheers for prosocial spite.

The very unimpressive new president of Yale, Maurie McInnis, has been silent to complicit during the repression. But now she's alarmed. Reminds me of Marx: "The English Established Church will more readily pardon an attack on 38 of its 39 articles than on 1/39 of its income."

I wrote about how NGO's working in abortion access and LGBTQ rights could be cutoff from US tech due to Trump issuing sanctions against them. Liberal government's could also find themselves targeted.

This is a wake up call.

It’s very simple IMHO. Chuck looks at Republicans and sees his Senate work buddies. Bill looks at them and sees people who pretended to be his friends and lied to his fucking face about supporting every principle he holds sacred for years. This is because Bill is smarter and has self respect.

I was waiting for someone to post this. Federal courts ordered the Biden administration to engage in negotiations with another country. This is complex territory for sure.

But how much negotiation is really required to say "you know that guy we're paying you to hold? Put him on our plane tomorrow"?
As DOJ argues that federal courts have no authority to order "any particular acts of diplomacy," I want to remind everyone that SCOTUS let Matthew Kacsmaryk seize control of Biden's border policy for 10 months and micromanage diplomatic negotiations with Mexican officials. slate.com/news-and-pol...

This. Joanne is right.
A plea.

Can we stop declaring this a “constitutional crisis?”

It’s bigger.

It’s a crisis about fundamental American ideals and structures.

“Constitutional crisis” makes it sound like an abstract lawyerly crisis

It’s bigger.

3 days ago RFK Jr. told the CDC to stop recommending water fluoridation, claiming it was a neurotoxin (this is a lie).

Turns out he also just eliminated the CDC’s entire Lead Program, and now lead poisoned children in Milwaukee are just on their own. Lead IS a neurotoxin and harms brain development
CDC denies help for lead poisoning in Milwaukee schools due to layoffs
The CDC rejected a request for help "due to the complete loss" of their lead poisoning experts.

Stipulating that this math is going to be wrong, we have upended the government's ability to function for... at most... and probably much less than... 2.2% of the overall federal budget.
