I did a 20 km estuary walk at the weekend along the Roach valley (Essex) with great soundscape/birds (curlew, avocet, lapwing, hundreds of ducks and waders). My daughter won't be able to at my age #climate #sealevelrise

It's astounding how much CO₂ we put into the atmosphere each year by burning fossil fuels.

For comparison, we all agree that plastic pollution is bad, but the mass of ALL THE PLASTIC humanity has ever produced is only 25% of the CO₂ we emitted into the atmosphere in 2025.

Still no peak. Emissions are projected to increase by 1.1% in 2025, reaching 38.1 GtCO2. An all time high.

My partner works for HEET, a small NE London organisation supporting people in fuel poverty. They currently have a winter fundraiser. Money goes to making homes more energy efficient, less damp, or helping people with fossil fuel inflated bills.🙏

Memo to the quoted govt person... Cargo E-bikes can replace cars for families. As our daughter nears being too big for our bike seat we are looking at E-bike options so that we can eg carry both her and shopping. Replacing cars is a cost saver in so many ways.

To be clear, what is being proposed here is to axe the main mechanism for getting Britain’s homes insulated - which is by FAR the best way to reduce household energy bills in the long term 🤦‍♂️
