And this is why we have a collective bargaining agreement with our employer.
Wit.

It's well worth watching, but I can't imagine wanting to repeat the experience especially now that my mom's in assisted living.
3. What is a movie that you will never rewatch?

Andrew Cuomo was Mike Tyson with his left arm amputated to the elbow. This takes nothing away from Mamdani's winning an outright majority.

RCV also selected Eric Adams. It's not a panacea.

The term for that is karma. Nuzzi and Lizza are both terrible human beings who deserve every door in political journalism closed to them. I doubt that Lizza was telling Vanity Fair anything it didn't already know or surmise about Nuzzi, but they went ahead with rehabilitating her image anyway.

How can I short the U.S. government?
November 21, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Why?

We are gerrymandering every Democratic state we can to achieve the same purpose as this: putting reliably Democratic votes in as many House seats as possible. So exactly what principle should we applaud Perez and Jared Golden for bravely defending here with the help of the House R caucus?

I’m at a point where I’m wondering if all my attempts to heal and grow are just shopping for a coping mechanism I haven’t learned to distrust yet.

I hope for us to live in an America where you not only don’t have to make that choice, but one where both are so fundamental that you don’t even think about it.

So now federal employees will be even more protected than they were before, when it was already illegal to fire them without cause during a shutdown or threaten to withhold pay from them when they return to work?

If you truly believe that this vote wasn't a mistake, you are unfit for your position.
My statement on the funding deal to reopen government, protect federal employees, and vote to protect health care:

So they vote for it and suddenly SNAP is cut off again because it's just as illegal the second time as it was the first?

I haven't been able to find a paying project for months. Can you help? Every share is appreciated.

The more reasonable and accommodating Schumer seems in his offer, the worse Republicans will look for not accepting. This week it's health insurance premiums going through the roof. Next week it's hospitals begging for help to stay open. The week after that, air travel grinds to a halt.

Yeah, okay. Let me know when the masked Virginia state troopers start abducting people who drive SUVs with Jesus fish on the lift gate.

I appreciate her demonstrating good manners in victory but I think the gesture is wasted on Republicans in general no matter what Earle-Sears feels about it.

I'm as normie Democrat as it gets, and I'm thrilled to see someone running for office and centering public services. I want a little Zohran at every level.

I've given my new Senator a lot of shit on here. But I don't think anyone with power has laid out the stakes of what we're facing as clearly as she does right here.

And if she's saying this, it's because she feels she must.

Today in terrifyingly chilling news…
This quote continues to rattle me to my core:

"So what you’re telling us is you need less evidence to kill somebody than you do to hold them."

That's Rep Adam Smith to Pentagon officials in a briefing on Trump's illegal boat bombings. As he told me in this piece, they didn't answer his objection:
Awful: Pentagon officials told lawmakers Trump now claims authority to bomb people merely “affiliated” with “narco-terrorist" groups, Rep Adam Smith tells me. But under questioning, they wouldn't say what “affiliated” even means!

Lots of fresh info in my new piece:
