Designer and artist in Seattle, WA. I don't care for tradition, but I do like weird old things. My opinions are my own. Very BLACK. She/her.
this story was INSANE!!!!!!!
MaryBeth Lewis gave birth to her 13th child at 62, but she wanted more. Her determination to grow her family led to felony charges and an unprecedented custody battle. nyti.ms/3X4LQ3A

The Seattle Mayor's race is too close to call. Lots of ballots remain to be counted. But there is plenty of good news for progressive candidates all around the region from tonight's results.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

Twitch the cat died peacefully in my arms this morning after a long battle with numerous illnesses including feline chronic kidney disease and bladder cancer. For over 12 years she was a source of comfort, hilarity, and joy, and taught me so much about resilience.

Hearing from a reader that part of the Bicycle Weekend route (this is the penultimate one of the year) is closed off to people walking and biking for what looks like a Rivian commercial shoot. Real classy, Seattle. We get only a handful of car-free days a year, and you give one to a car company.

When elections go the way I like: return to normalcy and common sense
When elections go the way that I don't like: "ideological drama"
Seattle Times editorial board member Alex Fryer: "We don’t know what the majority of residents think. Only about 39% of registered voters cast a ballot."

NPI has legislation that would let Seattle switch its elections to even years, when majorities of voters reliably turn out. The Times opposes it.
Primary election shows Seattle just can't quit ideological drama
The primary was considered a huge victory for the left. Let's hope for a more rigorous debate before the November general election seals the deal.

Product managers tell me that you don't need UX when you can just "build measure learn" your way to product market fit.

But if your sense-response mechanism is entirely built around trying new shit, and the new shit fails - what are you going to do? Continuing to tweak it only upsets users more.
This is grim stuff. ChatGPT users are pissed off at OpenAI, and it's blatantly obvious they don't really know why and neither does OpenAI.

ChatGPT is a dying MMORPG.

While masked agents were violently attacking a delivery worker this morning, bystanders repeatedly asked to see their badge numbers but they refused.

Bystander: You guys are ruining this country, you know that, right?

Agent: Liberals already ruined it.

NEW: Video shared with me from a bystander in DC shows multiple masked federal agents (at least one of whom appears to have an ICE badge) violently attacking and handcuffing a delivery worker in the street outside Bluestone Lane cafe near Logan Circle this morning.

Please take care when watching.
