Building Safer Streets & Better Bike Connections in South Seattle: 2025 was a year of completing projects and opening them to the traveling public, particularly in South Seattle and along the new Waterfront. In summer and early fall, we celebrated with the community as we finished a series of five projects to add miles of new protected bike lanes, help separate people biking and walking from cars and freight, and better connect South Seattle communities with downtown Seattle. Hot Bike Summer celebrated: Alaskan Way Safety Project, Beacon Ave S and 15th Ave S Safety Project, Georgetown to Downtown Safety Project, Georgetown to South Park Connection Project, East Marginal Way Corridor Improvement Project (North Segment)
