What the fuck. Trump is claiming the U.S. military captured a sitting head of state in his own country, with no extradition process & no legal authority.

No matter what you think of Maduro, that’s absolutely insane behavior—and a precedent that should alarm anyone who cares about international law.

Reminder that misinformation and disinformation are going to be worse than normal and to check sources, and be cautious with what you're sharing.
I keep seeing people saying Reuters reported troops on the group but no actual reporting from Reuters that's not actually helpful at all

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

I finished Katabasis but regret not just DNFing it. I didn't like the story, the characters, or the writing and found most of the book boring. I can see why people like it, it's just not for me.
I'm reading Katabasis by R. F. Kuang on high reccs from several of my bookish friends and I'm about to DNF it. I'm 60%ish of the way thru, I do think it's well written, I just don't like any of these characters to the point it's almost unreadable

I don't believe in new years resolutions but here's a few of my goals I'll be focusing on for 2026:

Less: buying stuff, TV/scrolling, drinking

More: charity & volunteering, reading/hobbies, quality time with people

I say his gently, but…

There’s something unspeakably shameful The United States letting people go hungry.

Not because its government doesn’t fix it —

but because tomorrow a few private Americans could, and never notice the cost.

That’s the part that sits wrong.
