While simple in story, the original "Madagascar" has nonetheless aged pretty well for an animated feature from the mid-2000s. The film doesn't rely too heavily on low-hanging fruit jokes and the characters have distinct and likeable personalities.

Zootopia 2 has now surpassed Inside Out 2 at the box office and has become the highest-grossing American animated film of all time, only being behind Ne Zha 2. I had a feeling this was gonna be a big film, but even I'm amazed how quickly it broke the record in a short time.

I just saw that Roger Allers passed away at the age of 76 and I'm devastated. Roger was one of the most important people behind the Disney Renaissance at Disney Animation which included storyboarding a lot of films and co-directing The Lion King. What an incredible legacy.
