I thought this was a great post about mapping. Maybe that is because I share the sentiment that mapping isn’t for every table but is amazing when it is a good fit for a table’s culture

I have been thinking about this thread and the idea in it a lot today. I commented in thread that I could only speak as a player who had to map in an megadungeon game but I think I do have more to add.
I don’t think mapping is right for all styles of play or all tables but it gets a bad wrap…

As I said this morning, I'm a proponent of "Just give the maps to your players." It's a huge quality of life improvement, and "The room is a square" is not robbing your players of exploration fun. BUT. If you're looking for a compromise, this is very cool tech:

I just got this amazing book from @soengery.bsky.social in the mail! It’s a game! It’s a comic! It’s the generator for your next TTRPG character! I am a biased as I wrote the forward and am Marie’s sometimes DM but it is thrilling to see such a work that combines cartooning and TTRPG book like this

It’s true. I have always found urban-based sessions overwhelming and unsatisfying so I decided to make my own. Inspired by my use of a classic city supplement in solo D&D, I put my megadungeon campaign to an end and started writing something that (hopefully) works for me
